Enhanced Quilting for the Beginner

The enhanced quilting design method is a version of quilting in the ditch.

You still stitch ¼” from the seam line. But you only stitch the outer lines of the quilt block pattern.

This is meant to enhance the actual design of the quilt block pattern. The quilting can make an Ohio star really stand out. Or any other quilt block pattern that you choose.

It is a good idea to use a combination of quilting techniques.

Use the enhanced design quilting to make your quilt block pattern stand out and add some straight line quilting in the background to compliment the design.

You can also do some stipple quilting to make the enhanced design quilting really stand out even more.

The creative choices are up to you. Mix and match different techniques to see what works the best with all of the many quilt block patterns available.
